Description
Early settlers to Oregon were highly dependent on the sea, whether for shipping freight and timber, transportation or fishing. The advent of trains and planes have reduced traffic into some of the smaller ports along the coast, but you can still enjoy a brush with this sea-faring past at the Garibaldi Museum of Maritime History, a convenient stop if you're heading north or south on Highway 101. Exhibits also include an overview of area history, in addition to artifacts and tales of 18th-century trade and ship side daring-do.Hours:
