Description

The area is signed. Limited parking and dispersed camping is located near the trailhead. A large section of the Granite Creek Trail is located within the North Fork John Day Wilderness. This trail is one of the primary accesses in to the Wilderness. Several operational mining claims are located near the trail. Trailpark Pass is required. Closed to all motorized and mechanized equipment, including mountain bikes and carts.

From Granite, head west on Forest Road No. 10 approx. 1.5 miles. Turn Right on Forest Road No. 1035 and travel approx. 3 miles to the end of the road. Trailhead is well signed.
