Description
In 3.9 miles, the trail gains approximately 2600 feet in elevation. The trail climbs steadily on a north facing forested slope.Trail accesses the 44,560 acre Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness Area that is part of the National Wilderness Preservation System. Once on the ridge, views of the Salmon-Huckleberry and Mt Hood are found. The BLM’s Wildwood Park, where the trailhead is located, offers a variety of shorter interpretive trails which broaden options for groups of diverse interests and abilities.

Follow US 26 ,15.4 miles east of Sandy, turning south at the BLM’s Wildwood Recreation Site. The trailhead is shared with Cascade Streamwatch Trail and Wetlands Boardwalk Trail. Take the Wetland Boardwalk Trail, cross the Salmon River and Boulder Ridge Trail starts approximately ½ mile from the trailhead.
