Description

Trail passes through fragile alpine terrain on the south slopes of the glacier-carved Broken Top volcano.

The trail enters the Three Sisters Wilderness Area shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness Permits are required for both day-use and overnight travel in the Wilderness from Memorial Day Weekend until Oct. 31. Permits are available at the trailhead.

Basic Directions

Trail begins 30 miles west of Bend, north of the Cascade Lakes Hwy at the Broken Top Trailhead on Forest Rd. 380. A high clearance vehicle is needed for travel beyond Todd Lake on the very rough Forest Rd. 370 (road remains gated closed until snow melts mid-summer). This trail can be reached more easily on foot via the Todd Ridge Trail and Soda Creek Trail (#11). Closed to mountain bikes.
