Some scenic hiking trails in the area include Overhang Trail #1509 (within 1/2 mile), Grotto Falls Trail #1503 (within 5 miles), Wolf Creek Nature Trail #1508 (within 4 miles), and Wolf Creek Falls Trail (BLM - within 5 miles).

From the North Umpqua Ranger Station (16 miles east of Roseburg on State Highway 138), take Highway 138 west 1/4 mile to Little River Road No.17. Follow Road 17 for 15.5 miles to Coolwater Campground, located on the right side of the road.
