Description

This is a place you can experience a lot of solitude. You will travel through beautiful mixed forested areas of lodgepole, sub-alpine fir, western larch, and Engelmann spruce, with creeks running through the area. Several loop trails are accessable from the Crib Point trail. There are many opportunities for dispersed camping in this area.

NW Forest Passes are required at the Moss Springs Trailhead.

The road to Moss Springs is very steep. There is parking at the trailhead, toilets and hitch rails are available. This trail system is maintained, but is more difficult. After leaving the Little Minam River trail (#1942) there are many switchhbacks through a dense forest, before breaking out on the ridge line. Plan ahead and be prepared to carry your own drinking water. Well signed at the trailhead, boundary, and junctions.
