Description

High Camp Trail is located in the northern part of the Mt. Adams Wilderness, directly across from Killen Creek Trail No. 113 and the Pacific Crest Trail No. 2000. It is used primarily as access to climb the North Cleaver Route on Mt. Adams. The trail ends in a high alpine meadow (6,928 feet elevation). The trail is heavily used and was likely the route taken on the first documented ascent of Mt. Adams in 1854. (The south side climb, which is the most popular route today, was not the first route used to reach the summit.)

No open fires are allowed at High Camp (stoves only).

Views of Adams Glacier, Mt. Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and the Goat Rocks.
