Description

Indian Rock Trail offers a short hike from Union Creek Campground. From the highway, the trail rises approximately 600 feet to the end at the point. Numerous locations along the trail display views of Phillips Reservoir and historic Sumpter Valley. Deer are frequently seen feeding on the south facing slopes near the trail above the reservoir.

Basic Directions

Take State Highway 7 from Baker City , south (approximately 18 miles).  The trail can be accessed directly across from the entrance to Union Creek Campground or turn north on Forest Road #2225, which is northeast of the Union Creek Campground entrance. The trail crosses .3 miles up the road.  Look for a trail sign on the right.
