The Klamath River winds southward from the heights of the Oregon Cascades and down through northern California. Arid canyons rim the Oregon stretches, which are typically more difficult . . . "Hell's Corner" in particular. Wild redwood forests and a flatter, lusher coastal landscape surround the California segment of the Klamath which is more of an intermediate, even beginner, run. The Klamath River is as a whole a varied and beautiful river, a perfect raft run for whitewater enthusiasts of any skill set.
The Lower Klamath is the quintessential beginner-intermediate whitewater run with over a hundred river miles to explore. An excellent multi-day adventure, the Lower Klamath is dominated by fun and splashy Class III rapids.
