Description

Lost Creek Nature Trail is a barrier-free interpretive trail. It is adjacent to Lost Creek Campground. Interpretive signing educates visitors to the local ecosystem. The trail was constructed largely by various volunteer efforts. This barrier-free trail consists of a paved loop with a short, decked side trail. There are numerous benches along with two streamside platforms that overlook the confluence of area creeks. Fishing can be done from the first platform. A vault toilet is located out on the trail.

Traditionally only artificial flies and lures are allowed in the rivers and creeks in this area. The season traditionally runs from the last Saturday in May through October. Basic Directions

Take U.S. 26 to 18 miles east of Sandy. At Zigzag, turn north on Lolo Pass Road (Rd 18). After 4 miles turn east on Road 1825. Continue 0.6 miles and bear right across a bridge and continue another 1.1 miles to a fork in the road. Stay right for at fork going ¼ mile to Lost Creek Campground. The trail starts in there.
