Description

The main Eagle trail provides access to many alpine lakes as well as to other destinations in the wilderness. Fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities abound as you travel through diverse landscapes of meadows, lakes, and mountains.

NW Forest Passes are required at Main Eagle Trailhead.

The trail #1937 to Arrow Lake is very steep and is not maintained or recommended for pack stock. Outhouse toilets and stock loading facilities are available at the trailhead.

Length may be added to this trip by taking side trips to Lookingglass Lake on trail #1921, and Eagle Lake on trail #1931.

Basic Directions

From La Grande or Baker City, take State Highway No. 203 to Medical Springs. Take Forest Road No. 67 approximately 16 miles and turn left of Forest Road No. 77. Go one mile and turn right on forest Road No. 7755 for 6 miles to the Main Eagle Trailhead at Boulder Park.
