Description
The Main Eagle trail provides access to alpine lakes as well as to other destinations in the wilderness. Fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities abound as you travel through diverse landscapes of meadows, lakes, and mountains.
NW Forest Passes are required at the Main Eagle Trailhead.
The Bench Canyon trail #1937 to Arrow Lake breaks off of the Main Eagle trail approximately 2.7 miles from the trailhead, and is very steep and not usually maintained or recommended for pack stock. The Main Eagle trail has many switchbacks and crosses many small streams along its route. The pass is approximately 10.4 miles from the trailhead, then you begin the descent to the Minam River. There are many opportunities for dispersed camping along this route. Outhouse toilets and stock loading facilities are available at the trailhead.
