Description

This trail is entirely located through open high mountain terrain. This trail allows the recreationalist access to the McClellan Mountain Semi-Primitive Roadless Area and is closed to all motorized vehicles.

Basic Directions

Trail is accessed from Field's Peak Trail No. 212. In order to reach the area from John Day, travel west on US Highway 26 approximately 18 miles to Forest Service road 21 (Field's Creek). Proceed south on the 21 road for approximately 4.5 miles to the junction of Forest Service road 115 (Last Creek). Proceed east on Forest Service road 115 for approximately 1/4 mile to junction of Forest Service road 2160 for 1/4 mile. Turn east on Forest Service road 2160041 and travel 1.5 miles to the trailhead area. Proceed to trail area by hiking up the Field's Peak Trail No. 212 for approximately 1 mile.
