Description
The trail is well signed at the trailhead, boundary and all junctions. There are fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities along the Minam River. The trail is forested and you will see many old ponderosa pines. The route follows the meandering of the Minam River.
NW Forest Passes are not required at this trailhead. From this trailhead you will have to ford the Minam River. There is private land on both sides of the trail and river so you will need to stay on the trail until you reach the wilderness boundary. Ford the river only at designated locations. The walk along Sheep Ridge Trail #1672 can be dry, especially in late summer and fall. Be sure to carry water for this stretch.
