History meets Pacific Ocean in Astoria, a coastal city at the mouth of the Columbia known for its association with explorers Lewis and Clark as well as its own unique charms.
This campground is at the far end of Odell Lake so the wind blows almost constantly. Odell Creek Campground is adjacent to Odell Lake Lodge and Resort. Food, water, gas and oil, boat rentals, cabins as well as camping and fishing supplies are available at the resort. Vegetation at Odell Lake is dominated by large Douglas fir, white fir, spruce, and hemlock typical of vegetation on the west side of the Cascades. This vegetation is present because the climate is more like that on the west side. Due to its orientation and location adjacent to Willamette Pass, winds can be quite brisk on Odell Lake and whitecaps occasionally form. The wind makes the lake a prime candidate for sailing and windsurfing in addition to its main attraction as a great lake to fish.
