Description

This section of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail is between Hwy 138 and Windigo Pass (Northwest Forest Pass required). It passes throught the Mt. Thielsen Wilderness Area and the Oregon Cascades Recreation Area. From Hwy 138 to Tipsoo Peak the trail is mainly on the Umpqua National Forest as it passes west of Mt. Thielsen and Howlock Mountain. North of Tipsoo Peak the trail closely follows the Cascade Crest passing back and forth in to the Deschutes, Winema, and Umpqua National Forests.
