Description
This unique facility provides easy access to the outdoors through trails connected by bridges on both sides of the river. Anglers may fish for trout from two platforms or two bridges available. Hikers and wildlife viewers can experience a closeness to nature from the trails with sitting benches on which one can relax by the river front. Wildflowers are plentiful in June and July.
At the end of Forest Road 150 (1/4 mile from the highway) and across the river, the Mason Dam Picnic Area offers picnic tables, firerings, and ample space for recreating under the pine trees in a secluded setting. The restrooms at this site are not wheelchair accessible.
The hiking trails, fishing platforms, and restrooms available are fully accessible. Interpretive signs next to the highway depict trout and beaver habitat. Sitting benches are placed along the paved trail. Mason Dam, the outlet of Phillips Reservoir, is at the end of Forest Road 150.
