Rasor is pure desert off-roading and secluded to a degree that few off-roading areas are. You can take to these dunes and valleys and experience no sound at all save the wind and your own motor. The elevation varies greatly, from a peak-like 2,427 feet to 1,275 if you drive down by the Mojave River.
Stop off the road to camp or wildlife watch and bring plenty of supplies and water no matter how long you plan on staying. This is part of the Mojave desert, after all. This is also part of California's historic mining area, so look out for (and avoid) mine shafts.
