Sand Island State Recreation Area is a 140 acre, landscaped coastal park near Honolulu. This park is comprised of a small sand beach in Honolulu Harbor with picnicking and camping facilities, bathrooms and showers. In addition, a boat ramp is located nearby.
The Sand Island Campground is open from Friday through Monday nights. It is closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. The campground offers 34 campsites.

Directions from Honolulu: Sand Island Recreation Area is found in the western end of Honolulu Harbor. It is located at the end of Sand Island Access Road, off Nimitz Highway (Highway 92).
