Description

The Sand Pass trail provides views of many jagged peaks, looking down onto creek beds and lush landscape. There are views of rugged ridges one after the other. It is a great place for solitude, and viewing wildlife.

There is parking at the trailhead. This trail can be hiked in either direction; going up to Sand Pass and down the Mule Peak (#1924) trail, or by going to Mule Peak first. It is a steep loop either way. There is water along parts of the trail for stock, but you should be prepared to take your own drinking water.

Well signed at the trailhead, boundaries and junctions.
