Description
This trail in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness Area allows access to Slide Basin and Slide Lakes from Strawberry Basin Trail No. 375.
Interesting rock formations also highlight this trail. Trail proceeds along the side of the mountain offering many scenic views, traveling first through the forest, opening up to a view of Strawberry Mountain, later traversing up the mountain to a view of the John Day Valley and Slide Creek Basin. Slide Falls can also be seen from the trail.
This trail offers open vistas of distant mountain ranges such as the Eagle Caps and Elkhorn's. This trail is also an excellent trail for wildflowers in mid-July.

Take County road 60 south from Prairie City approximately 12 miles to Strawberry Campground. Take the Strawberry Basin Trail #375, turn left onto Slide Basin Trail #372.
