Description

This trail, deep within the Three Sisters Wilderness, winds among Snowshoe and Upper Snowshoe Lakes, as well as Long and Puppy Lakes. Lovely old growth forest with abundant solitude. Early season mosquitoes can be nasty.

The trail is in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area. Wilderness Permits are required for both day-use and overnight travel in the Wilderness from Memorial Day Weekend until Oct. 31. Permits are available at the trailhead.

Basic Directions

This trail is most easily reached via 6 miles on the Winopee Lake Trail (#16) from the Winopee Trailhead, which is just beyond Cultus Lake Campground. Alternate trail access is via 8 miles on the Six Lakes Trail (#14) and Pacific Crest Trail (#2000). Take Century Drive 46 miles SW of Bend, then 2 1/2 miles west on Forest Rd. 4635 Alternate access is via Sunriver and the 40 Rd.
