Description

Designed as a barrier-free trail, the wide, hard-surfaced Sugar Creek Trail is intended to provide easy access along Sugar Creek within the campground while protecting sensitive riparian resources from the effects of concentrated use. Two wood footbridges across Sugar Creek complete a figure-8 loop with short side spurs, allowing enjoyable walks for visitors who will be staying close to camp. The year-round stream and shady ponderosa pine forest offer some welcome relief from the heat of summer. Campground, day use area, and trail are closed between December 1 and May 1 to protect sensitive wildlife habitat.
