The Switzerland Trail follows an old railroad bed through moderate grades. The road is passable by high clearance 2WD vehicles, although it narrows to one lane in places. It passes the Mt. Alto Picnic Area, and there are fine views to the east of the Front Range all along the way. The Switzerland Trail is a great place to see fall aspen colors in late September or early October.
