Description

The trail travels through an open meadow, high elevation area. It overlooks the Little Malheur River to the south and views of the Unity area can be seen to the east. Wildflowers and herds of deer and elk are the main attractions, although the Monument Rock and other rock formations are also unique.

The trail travels through an area burnt in 1989.

From Prairie City, travel on County road 62 for approximately 9 miles to Forest Service road 13. Follow Forest Service road 13 approximately 16 miles to Forest Service road 1370. Take Forest Service road 1370 approximately 9 miles to the trailhead.
