For the best of both Oregon worlds, beat a hasty retreat to Bend, a central city home to a culturally-oriented community and close to ski slopes, raftable river, ragged mountains, golf courses, top climbing spots and peaceful forest.
The huckleberry bushes, heavily forested character, and great fishing make this the most popular campground on the Crescent Ranger District. Shelter Cove Resort is only a short distance from Trapper Creek and provides a number of conveniences such as snack bar, boat rental, camping, and fishing supplies. Vegetation at Odell Lake is dominated by large Douglas fir, white fir, spruce, and hemlock typical of vegetation on the west side of the Cascades. This vegetation is present because the climate is more like that on the west side.
