Description
The Wild & Scenic North Fork of the Umpqua River was known to local Native Americans of the area as ‘Thunder Water’ and for good reason. Draining the Cascade Mountains and Maidu Lake, the North Fork’s aquamarine waters spill down continuous intermediate-level pool drop rapids.
The North Fork of the Umpqua’s river channel cuts through lush Douglas fir forest thick with moss and lichen. Originally better known for its fishing opportunity, the North Fork of the Umpqua has quickly gained fame for great whitewater as well.
Single to multi day trips are offered on this stretch, located 40 miles east from Roseberg, Oregon.
