Description

The trail begins near east end of Odell Lake at the Crater Butte Trailhead and ends at the Pacific Crest Trail No. 2000 near Marie Lake. There are junctions with the Fawn Lake Trail No. 44A, Stag Lake Trail No. 44B, Whitefish Creek Trail No. 42, and Snell Lake Trail No. 43. The trail starts in Douglas fir/white fir/mountain hemlock forest then grades into lodgepole and back to a mountain hemlock/noble fir forest. Fawn, Saddle, and Stag Lakes.

The trail enters the Diamond Peak Wilderness Area shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness Permits are required for both day-use and overnight travel in the Wilderness from Memorial Day Weekend until Oct. 31. Permits are available at the trailhead.
