Description

This area also serves as a snow park, with regular use by snowmobilers and cross country skiers.

Civilian Conservation Corps constructed features (log fence, rock wall); variety of plant communities, good birdwatching opportunities. This is a short, easy hike; great for kids, or a break from traveling.

Basic Directions

From Burns, travel north on US Highway 395 approximately 17 miles. The trailhead is located in Idlewild Campground. Park in day use area near picnic shelter. Trail follows campground boundary fence and rock wall. Several signs direct visitors to trail access.
