Description

In the Oregon Cascades Recreation Area. Trail begins at Windy/Oldenberg Trailhead on F.S. Rd. 60 at west end of Crescent Lake and goes south to the Skyline Trailhead on F.S. Rd. 60 near Windigo Pass. There is a junction with the Summit Lake Trail No. 46 near Oldenberg Lake. This trail is part of the old Oregon Skyline Trail, and Oldenberg Lake is the largest of the many lakes you will encounter. The trail is very popular for family hiking and passes through lodgepole pine and occasionally mountain hemlock. Also provides access to Pinewan, Bingham and Nip-and-Tuck Lakes. The trail crosses Historic Elliot Wagon Road at Pinewan Lake.
