Burns is a small town in rural eastern Oregon, surrounded by range lands with the scenic Steens Mountain on the horizon. This quiet town is at home with its Old West roots, with museums, rock shops, and western art galleries dotting the small Main Street. Outside of town, a number of natural attractions can be found within an hour's drive.
In addition to the dramatic fault-block range of Steens Mountain, visitors will find the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge a short distance south, popular with bird watchers, and the volcanic features at Diamond Craters farther on down the road.
