Basic Directions
From Prairie City, follow County road 62 and Forest Service road 14 to Summit Prairie. Go west on Forest Service road 16 to Forest Service road 924. Turn right on Forest Service road 1648. Go to Forest Service road 021 road. Go approximately 1 1/2 miles to Forest Service road 039. Follow this road to the trailhead.
Description
Moderate hiking through old growth stands of pine and fir, in the Strawberry Wilderness Area. Panoramic views are limited, except at the upper end of the trail.
Water is limited the entire length of the trail. Little Riner Basin as a primitive camp and a base to explore the east end of the wilderness and Lakes Basin.
